SIGNED PAPERBACKS

Book Signing

For years, people have been asking me to offer signed paperbacks. To be honest, I’ve given a lot of print copies away over the years because I didn’t have time to set something up. Not sure I have the time now, but I finally did it! Well, my wife and I were finally able to set up something that would work, anyway.

To answer a few questions first:

1. Signed bookplates are open internationally (so, all of the US and any country wherever the US Post Office delivers snail mail).

2. Signed paperbacks are limited to the US for the time being.

* This is because I need to get a handle on my process first, but also because there are some customs regulations for the EU and other places that make shipping anything more complicated, so I’m trying to keep that in mind and still offer a way for international folks to be able to get a print edition locally and just attach a signed bookplate.

3. There is an interest/request form, which will allow me to handle the intake more easily. I’ll describe that in a bit.

* Shipping & Handling will be added to your total, and payment will be calculated and processed in USD via a Ko-Fi donation for the paperback “gift.” This is the only payment method that I will be accepting at this time, so if you’re unable to access this in your location, I apologize.

I will ship all books and bookplates requested once a month, so there will be a deadline to get that request in prior to the shipping date, or you’ll have to wait until the next shipment. At the moment, I won’t offer any kind of priority or expedited shipping, so please keep that in mind if you’re requesting a signed edition for somebody as a special occasion gift.

Okay, so how will it work?

Signed Paperbacks (US shipping only):

Complete your request via the Google Form linked below. I will ask for some basic information to determine relevant shipping costs and your total. Once I review your form, I will email you to give you the total cost and shipping schedule (i.e., this month or the following, depending on when you submit your payment). If you’re good with that info, you’ll pay for your request as a donation via the Ko-Fi link provided in the email.

Once I see that on my end, I’ll process your request, which is a fancy way of me saying that I’ll pull the book(s) off a shelf, sign it, pack it up, print some labels, drive it to the post office, and I’ll email you with a tracking number so that you have it. Then, you’ll receive your book(s) and, hopefully, enjoy them forever. That’s it. It’s pretty simple.

Signed Bookplates (US + International shipping):

I also offer signed bookplates for those folks who want to have something they can stick inside a paperback book they already own or want to buy locally to save on shipping costs. Those will be mailed on the same schedule and can also be requested via the same form.

My hope is that this is a simple process, and that it allows me to offer signed paperbacks. As we go on, I might revamp the process (add or remove things), so please keep that in mind. Books might also be out of stock in my inventory, so there’s a chance I’ll have to order them myself and have them shipped to me before I can get them signed and sent to you. I will tell you this in the email, and you can make any necessary changes, but if you’re hoping to get someone a gift for a special day, I would request at least 4-6 weeks in advance since Amazon can take a couple of weeks sometimes to get me the books before I can get them to you.

That’s it for now! The link is now live, so you can start putting in your requests.

Thank you for sticking with me for this long, everyone, especially if you’ve been asking for this for years!
